It is a popular place for golf enthusiasts, with its picturesque Bay Harbour Golf Club and has scenic views of the Gold Coast if you choose to drive along it. It is a relaxing place, with its limestone bluffs, foliage, and Little Traverse Bay sandy beaches and beach dunes. And for honeymooners, the Petoskey sunset puts you in just the right mood to make the most of your honeymoon.
Holland
Holland is popularly called Tulip Town and is a great getaway for its charming little-town quality, Dutch heritage and of course, its flowers. If you’re into clogs and windmills, this is just the place for you, with the Dutch Village or Holland State Park, with its beautiful beaches and the ‘Big Red’, one of Lake Michigan’s most famous lighthouses.
Frankenmuth
Frankenmuth is the town for you if you love all things German and can get a taste and feel of small-town Germany without having to make the trip all the way! Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island
Mackinac Island consists of a series of rock terraces rising out of the Straits of Mackinac between Lake Huron and Lake Michigan and can be reached by ferry from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace, an adventure in itself. It is a beautiful place for honeymooners to just relax and enjoy each other’s company, but spring is undoubtedly the best time to take in the beauty of varieties of lilacs in full bloom. Late spring witnesses the Lilac Festival, with parades, tours and wine tasting, so you can indulge all your senses! If you want to really treat yourselves, the Grand Hotel offers the ultimate in luxury and a panoramic view of Mackinac Bridge that connects the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan. As there are no cars allowed on the island, you can explore it by bike, horse or carriage tours. For the honeymooning history buffs, there is the National Historic Landmark, that offers interesting tours and cannon firings. Night time on the island is a peaceful and quiet opportunity to walk the boardwalks and enjoy the sight of the Mackinac Bridge, all lit up. The bridge is spread out over 5 miles of water and is the longest suspension bridge anchored by cables. Brooklyn
Brooklyn has many interesting sights like the Cambridge Historical Park, replete with history of the pioneers, golf grounds like the Greenbriar Golf Course that has a campground as well, Hidden Lake Gardens with its glistening lake, acres of landscaped property, lush greenery with the backdrop of the Irish Hills and its many hiking trails, woods and meadows.
The Irish Hills
The Irish Hills area has the Irish Hills Observation Tower which offers you the privilege of panoramic vistas and viewing 3 different counties and 27 lakes. West of the tower is St. Joseph’s Shrine on the shores of the picturesque Iron Lake. The Michigan International Speedway is also located here, with the best of racing action.
The Hayes State Park

The Stagecoach Stop, east of the Hayes State Park, is a lot of fun, while taking you back in time to Michigan of the 1800s.
Traverse City
Traverse City offers many attractions including its popular Traverse City State Park and Clinch Park, where honeymooners can take a leisurely stroll or enjoy some of the many outdoor recreations. For those with a penchant for history, the Grand Traverse Dinner Train, Dennos Museum Center or Old Mission Chateau Grand Traverse are ideal. For the nature enthusiast, there is the Refitt Preserve and the Grand Traverse Natural Education Reserve, while for the inveterate shopper, there is Suttons Bay, located in the town center and offering both scenic vistas and great shopping.
Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor located in the Lower Peninsula has the Nichols Arboretum, which is a nature reserve ideal for walking and hiking, The Ark, which has ethnic music and live performances, a popular brewery/pub called the Leopold Brothers of Ann Arbor, Cobblestone Farm, Jacques Dessange Salon and Spa if you want to pamper yourself and Kerrytown for the best shopping on offer.
