Best Cities to Meet Hispanic or Latino Single Men and Women

Data from 2010 US Census Bureau shows that over half of the Hispanic population in the United States resided in just three states: California, Texas, and Florida1. Thus the best cities to meet single Latino men and women would be heavily concentrated in the western and southern parts of the country. And yet the increasing mobility of the Hispanic population especially the younger segment has ensured that other metropolitan and fast-growing cities also figure on the list. So if you are looking forward to meet Hispanic singles, these are some cities you can explore.

Laredo, Texas

Laredo, the seat of Webb County in Texas figures on the list of best cities to meet Hispanic singles on the basis of sheer numbers. At least 96% of the population of Webb County is Hispanic as of 2010 which is the highest proportion of any county in the country2. Not surprising since Laredo's economy is based on international trade with Mexico. Most major transportation companies have a facility in Laredo. Laredo's location along the southern end of I-35 close to the manufacturers in North Mexico promotes its vital role in trade between the United States and Mexico. Laredo Energy Arena is one of the most popular recreational places where one can meet singles of the city – this includes Hal's Landing, a restaurant/arcade that serves as a popular nightspot on the weekends. Around the Springfield area, several restaurant/bars have come up in recent times. Some of these places include Agave Azul, Cosmos, Old No.2, and Lima Sol all of which are especially popular with the younger crowd. Other good places to look for Hispanic singles would be ethnic conclaves, markets, cafes or get involved in the festivals and celebrations of the community which are quite frequent in Laredo and one of the most popular of which is Jamboozie.

TIP: Match.com has millions of Hispanic/Latino men and women as members from USA, Canada and Europe.

Miami

Miami-Fort St Lauderdale has one of the highest concentrations of Hispanic community in the United States. Traditionally they have concentrated in the western side of Miami especially Little Havana, West Flagler, and Flagami which have been home to many of the city's earliest immigrant communities from Latin American countries. Although at one time a mostly Jewish neighborhood, today western Miami is home to immigrants from mostly Central America and Cuba, while the west central neighborhood of Allapattah is a multicultural community of many ethnicities. In this city, one can find Latino single men and women employed in the city’s hospitality and tourism industries as well as the media. Other than this, they are also likely to be heavily involved in dance, music and other cultural pursuits. Some of the posh hangouts where one can meet well-heeled Latino singles are nightclubs such as Space, Mansion, Parkwest, Ink, and Cameo.

Los Angeles

One of the biggest centers of finance, entertainment, business and culture in the US is also home to a large and diverse Hispanic community. The predominantly Hispanic communities of Mexican descent have traditionally been based on the east of the City of Los Angeles, centered around the unincorporated areas of East Los Angeles and City Terrace and the Los Angeles district of Boyle Heights. In recent times though one can find upwardly mobile Latinos moving to adjacent parts of the Los Angeles County like Orange County, the San Fernando Valley, the Inland Empire, and the Gateway Cities.  At the same time, there are parts of "greater" East L.A., such as the cities of Montebello, Whittier and Pico Rivera, where many U.S.-born Hispanics still live. So the cafes, restaurants, public parks and community centers in these parts would be good places to meet Hispanic singles while a more professionally mobile segment of the population may be found living it up at the many swanky hotspots of the city like AD with its multi-level dance floors including one for the VIPs, the Airliner, Cohiba and the Kids Cotton Club. Other than these ethnic festivals and cultural events of the Hispanics of Los Angeles would be good opportunities to meet single men and women from the community. These could range from avant garde events such as Latin film festivals to more popular Latino musical and dance celebrations.

Albuquerque

Albuquerque is the largest city in the state of New Mexico and has one of the largest populations of Hispanics in the country. Traditionally the Hispanic population in this city was localized in the North West Quadrant which contains historic Old Town Albuquerque, dating back to the 18th century, as well as the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. The area has a mixture of commercial districts and low- to middle-income neighborhoods. However currently hangouts for the young Latino population are as varied as they are numerous. recreational centers like Santa Ana Star Center, El Rey Theatre Albuquerque Civic Plaza, the Kimo theater are some of the places where one can find exciting Latin dances, music gigs and other events taking place round the year.  Other than these there are clubs like El Madrid and Graham Central Station which are great favorites with young hip Latino crowds. Other great ways to meet Hispanic singles in Albuquerque would be to get involved in the Latino celebrations of the community like the ABQ Latin festival and the Albuquerque Latin Dance festival.
