The Three Decans of Virgo

The first decan of Virgo is ruled by Sun.

A patient nature, likely to suffer affliction and privation, and sometimes restraint or imprisonment; it confers a long life, and disposes to the study of analytical and mechanical science, theoretical and practical. The nature is secretive, and the subject of this decan often lives a very retired life.

The second decan of Virgo is ruled by Venus.

An artistic and literary person is denoted, with a love for philosophy and belles-lettres; kind disposition, genial and vivacious nature, full of pleasant allusions and bright dialogue; fortunate in the acquisition of property and artistic pursuits. Long voyages are shown; much familiarity with the stage or the artistic world; some falling-off of family fortunes, and an inclination to domestic disputes.

The third decan of Virgo is ruled by Mercury.

The nature is quick and alert, apt in the sciences and dexterous arts; inclined to literature; loquacious and restless; a person of much business, and very versatile disposition ; gains honours and position by his own merits, and acquires property; disposed to the study of medicine and hygiene; very particular in the matters of diet and clothing; many changes of residence.
