How to Detox Your Kidneys

The kidneys are essential organs as they are in charge of detoxifying and depurating our organism. Kidneys follow similar function to the liver in the sense that they are fundamental in the elimination of toxins and waste products that our bodies no longer need. Beyond that kidneys is one of the principal pathways that our blood takes to get purified and cleansed. Kidneys will absorb and retain any useful compounds while at the same time reject and expel all waste through the urine. Kidneys are also intimately tied to the regulation of arterial blood pressure and the balance of salts such as potassium, calcium, sodium, and magnesium, in blood.

Kidneys are a pair of organs that resemble the shape of beans and measure approximately thirteen centimeters in length and eight centimeters in width. They are found on the posterior side of the abdominal cavity, just above the waist. On top of each of the kidneys, you will find the adrenal glands that regulate the production of vital hormones, such as cortisol which aids metabolism and governs stress responses as well as aldosterone which regulates blood pressure.Detoxing your kidneys will potentially prevent fatigue, protect against kidney infections, prevent painful kidney stones, improve overall bladder strength and even improve the overall quality of your skin.

Taking into account all of the above-mentioned functions carried out by the kidneys, it is fundamental that we maintain their proper function and healthy outlook. A clear indication that kidneys are being overburdened or perhaps are suffering damage is an elevated serum creatinine level. Once this has been established, it is imperative that we take the necessary steps to ameliorate the causes of the kidney inefficiency and bring them back in line.
