Can You Cure Gonorrhea at Home?

Gonorrhea cannot be cured at home. Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by bacterial infection with Neisseria gonorrhoeae. While there are plenty of home remedies made with herbs and foods that are known to have antibacterial properties the only effective treatment for gonorrhea is medicine prescribed by a doctor. Gonorrhea is cured with prescription antibiotic medicine. The most common treatment is with a dose of injected ceftriaxone and a dose of azithromycin taken orally. In recent years an alarming trend of antibiotic resistance has been observed by health care providers and because of this a higher dosage is sometimes required.
