How Long Does It Take to Get Rid of Gonorrhea?
Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection of the body’s mucous membranes. Like all bacterial infections it is easily treated with antibiotic medicine. It is of utmost importance to take the treatment exactly as directed. Since gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection both partners need to be treated. All sexual contact is discouraged while you are undergoing treatment for a sexually transmitted infection. For gonorrhea specifically if you are prescribed a single dose of antibiotic medicine you should wait at least 7 days after the treatment before resuming any kind of sexual activity.
