Can Gonorrhea Kill You?

If treated early during the infection gonorrhea is completely curable and will not cause any permanent damage to your organism however if left untreated for long gonorrhea can lead to some serious complications. One of these complications arises when the gonorrhea infection spread to other parts of the body. If a gonorrhea infection spreads to the blood stream then a possible DGI or Disseminated Gonococcal Infection might arise. A DGI can lead to arthritis, tenosynovitis, dermatitis, and in severe cases inflammation of the brain which can be potentially fatal. It is of utmost importance to get regularly tested for STD’s and seek the proper treatment so that the risk of complications is kept to a minimum.
